Cerejeira
(Amburana caerensis)

Cerejeira grows in South America to a height of almost 50 feet with a diameter of 2 feet, and is a hard, beige or yellow beige (sometimes veined) timber with good weather resistance. Its grain is straight or shallowly interlocked, with a medium to coarse texture. The sapwood is not clearly distinct, with the heartwood being greyish white.

Cerejeira is used for stairs, external joinery (windows, shutters, etc.), furniture, kitchen cabinetry, flooring , axe handles, main gates, and front doors.

It saws easily with slight blunting effects, glues and nails well, and finishes nicely after filling.
